Umrah with toddler part 1

Alhamdulillah I have safely arrived in Madinah at 11.30pm local time last night which is around 4.30 am malaysia time. Alhamdulillah the long haul flight is quite smooth sailing for my 19 months old daughter, Rania. She slept most of the time and only wakes up once in a while to get her usual feeding. I guess that is te advantage if a breastfeed mom cause the baby will feel calm everytime she gets her milk. On the other hand, it's a rocky journey for my niece, hannah and she's only 13 months old. She has eczema so she cries most of the journey. I feel sorry for my SIL and feel quite helpless looking at her.

Some of my tips to bring a little toddler before a longggg journey are as below;

1. Make sure they play a lot before the journey so that they sleep during the journey ;)

2. Change to a comfy clothes and a new pair of diaper during boarding time. It's quite challenging to use the changing room in the plane since the space is very small.

3. Bring lots of finger food or some sweet things. This helps when u need her to be well behaved child. Sorry to say but bribery is the best weapon when you're in a long haul flight. I brought marsh mellow, chipsmore cookies and vitagen.

4. Get a colour pencil and book for them to get occupied. Though some airlines provide this or other types of kiddie entertainment but some airlines like saudi airlines don't provide. So just go and get one before the flight.

5. Having a seat for your child is a blessing! Saudi airlines provide a seat to Rania eventhough she's not 2 yet. She can eat, sleep and play at her own seat and it is much more comfortable for us, mommies

I'll continue with my 2nd part on bringing rania to masjid nabawi ;)

3 months

Today she's 3 months old! She's still one cheerful baby. I'm grateful to haven rania as my daughter. Now we have some sort of routine. When i come back from work, the first thing she wants is milk! Then, we'll have a longgggggg conversation of oooohhhh and aaaaaaa.

Rania has a strong neck and she always try to lift her body if we were to carry her. One of her fav thing to do is to suckle her fingers.

She loves outdoor. She behaves so well whenever we go out..

I love u rania

Rania got her second dose of hepatitis b injectioan yesterday, 23.12.12. She was cranky the whole day so mummy tried to comfort you.

I love being a mom. Despite of sleep drive, thus explain the flakiness of my skin. It's all worth it. When i see you smile, everything else just doesnt matter.

Kissing your soft cheeks is my fav...

Tips on breast milk

What supplement do you take?
Do you take any milk booster?
What do you eat?
Etc..

I often get this sort of question. Alhamdulillah, rania is 2 months old now and i have been exclusively breastfeeding her since day 1.

The key of success for BF is patience. I have never been born to be patient person but BF has thought me not to give up and have faith in Allah s.w.t for a start, i did A LOT of research through the internet, facebook, blogs and etc.

This is my summary
The system works around supply and demand. The more time you let your baby suck your breast, the more milk you will get. At times, your baby would feel frustrated coz there's no milk coming out from your breast. Dont stress out, instead take a deep breath and go for a walk to the kitchen. Give yourself a 10 sec time out and then you try again and again and again. When you start producing milk, you will feel uncomfortable when your breast harden cause your baby was still asleep. Pump it out.

Gtg
Am soooo sleepy...fell asleep 3x as i write this post. Nite2
